I cannot believe I am writing this on the last day of November. It is December tomorrow, which means we enter into the darkest months of the year, everyone spends a lot of money in preparation for Christmas, there are twinkly lights all around, cold icy mornings, Christmas itself and finally 2018 will draw to a close.
2nd Post
I also cannot believe it has been so long since my first post. I am really frustrated with myself as I had hoped to get that written within a couple weeks of the first one. During the time between posts however I have been very busy. The end of September and beginning of October I was transitioning from breastfeeding my daughter to bottle-feeding. Every mum who has gone through this process knows that it is a mix of emotions. I stopped bf my daughter at 13 months, which was a lot longer than I ever anticipated feeding her but was a good amount for us. I think she would have liked to carry on and on, however, I was starting to feel mentally, emotionally and physically drained. The transition was fairly smooth, but I think I did feel at a bit of a loss for almost a month.
So by the end of October I finally had got my act together enough to launch my craft business. I wanted to start a year ago, but I was finding and making products I might like to sell, looking after the bubba and going to work a couple evenings a week. My time for the business is still restricted to a few hours each day (if I’m lucky) as most weekends we spend travelling to visit family. So it will be a slow build, as is expected with a craft business. I chose to call it: Hoopoe Crafts. Hoopoes are a type of bird that I often saw in my garden while growing up in South Africa, and so are rather sentimental to me.

I am now delving into the world of an online business and trying to figure it all out. I am working hard to get my business launched successfully. There is a lot to do including promoting through social media, making stock and creating new designs. It is very exciting though.
What will December bring?
Tomorrow is the first day of the last month of 2018! I do really enjoy the build up to Christmas. I love buying and making presents, I always wish money wasn’t a restraint however I guess it does make it a bit more special. We are having my Mum, sister and her boyfriend to ours for Christmas day this year, so that means I can also think about table decorations and little extra touches. I have already made a bunch of cards, but now I need to write and send them out before its too late – which might very well be the case for me!

I hope everyone has a good month ahead and I will try and write my next post a lot sooner this time.
