Wow, I cannot believe it has been so long since my last blog entry (4 months to be exact)! I knew I would struggle to write each week but, it appears, I am beyond useless. Sorry about that. I have many excuses…. but I won’t bore you with all of that now. However, I will say there is going to be a lot of change to my blog very soon…. Watch this space!
I’m sure I mentioned it but I started my online craft business near the end of last year. I make a range of crocheted and sewn items currently. If that is something that might interest you, click Here. I haven’t had many sales so far, or much of a following on Instagram just yet. I have completed a few webinars this week about how to use social media for my business. These have really inspired me to ask myself some big questions about my business.
- What kind of business do I want?
- What are my future goals?
- What are my core business ethos?
- Who is my target audience/potential client?
Funny enough, I didn’t do this before. I think I was too afraid to think about it because I was too scared it would fail. I guess you could say, I have spent the last six months getting to this point. The point where I feel confident in asking myself these questions and confident to start dreaming again. I don’t think I have dreamt about my ideas or goals for a very long time. I got completely caught up in the routine of finishing school, completing uni, not knowing what job I actually wanted, getting a job to pay bills, studying a bit more to get a job I thought I really wanted. It took having a baby and becoming a mum to realise: I can make things happen for myself.

Seems so obvious, but I’m sure many of you can relate to feeling pressured into following one set career because it is a “good job” and has a “good salary” with a ladder to climb. Am I right? I would love to hear back from you on this topic!
So how will things be changing? I will be linking this blog to my business rather than it being a separate thing completely. A couple of my plans for the next month include:
- Getting my brand pinned down
- Getting my business logo improved
- Making more products (as always!)
- Plus, writing on here a whole lot more!
So I’ll sign off now and get started on that to do list!
p.s. If you have started an online craft business I would love to here from you.
